Materials Master catalogue outsourcing in SAP MDM

CLIENT

Multinational Metals and Mining Company with more than 30 assets asked Synopps team to maintain the Materials Master Catalogue in SAP MDM for processing incoming requests from end users.

PROJECT SCOPE & TEAM ROLES

• Synopps team take the role of Material Master experts for 6 months.
• TEAM: 10 FTE.
• SLA: Each request must be processed within 28 working hours of receiving the notification.

ACTIONS TAKEN

1. More than 20,000 requests for the creation of new records in the Material Master Catalogue were processed in accordance with the methodology of normalization and regulations for maintaining the catalogue.
2. Each request has been checked for completeness, correctness, and availability of supporting documents (inc. duplicates check).
3. All requests were enriched (if necessary) by mandatorily required attributes.

RESULTS ACHIEVED

• 99% of requests were processed within SLA requirements.
• The average request processing time was 12 working hours.
• The involvement of Synopps team experts reduced the queue of processing requests from 30 to 4 hours.
• Reduced load on the company's full-time experts during peak periods, including seasonal and unscheduled bidding activities.
